A formal referral from a local veterinarian is not required but we do require proof of current rabies vaccination.
Seasonal Allergies, Flea Allergy and Food Allergy
Skin and Ear infections including resistant Staph and Pseudomonas infections
Immune mediated skin conditions
Problems with the haircoat
Certain conditions affecting the claws and anal sacs
Itchy smelly scaly crusty skin conditions
Cases that do not seem to respond to treatment or that keep coming back
Animals that are on a lot of medications and owners are concerned about side effects
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT AT THE APPOINTMENT?
You may bring your pet into the waiting room for check in and weighing. Make sure dogs are on a leash and cats in a secure carrier.
Please bring any medications you are giving or have given to your pet including shampoo, ear drops and ear cleaners.
Take a picture of the label of the foods you are using as there are so many foods with similar names.
Dr. Nagle will review the history and any records that we have and then ask you about your pet. We will examine your pet's skin and usually collect samples to be examined under the microscope at the clinic. We use this information to design a plan of treatment with you.
Fees are payable at the time of check out and we email you detailed discharge instructions. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Cash AMEX and some Care Credit plans.
Most dermatology cases require follow up or rechecks so we should arrange that as you check out.
We will send a report to your local veterinarian as well.
Sometimes samples are sent to outside laboratories and so we will update you by email when results are available.
